Bento Sushi got its start in 1996 in downtown Toronto as a small takeout shop offering sushi, bento boxes and other ready-to-eat foods. A rapid expansion followed and continues to this day, transforming Bento Sushi into the largest sushi company in Canada with over 450 locations spread across all ten provinces and several states in the United States. At present, Bento Sushi employs over 1,400 highly trained sushi chefs and serves more than 15 million sushi portions every year.

SUSTAINABILITY AND RESPONSIBILITY
At Bento Sushi, we care about the ocean and environment as a whole – we know that the supply of seafood in the world is finite, and as such we don’t use any endangered or unsustainable seafood in our products. We partner with organizations like the Marine Stewardship Council, and Seachoice, and use PET recyclable packaging which is locally produced to help reduce our carbon footprint. We believe it’s the right thing to do.

OPERATIONS TRAINING AND FRANCHISEE SUPPORT
At Bento, we have trained thousands and thousands of sushi chefs from scratch, and in the process we’ve learned a thing or two about how to get the novice sushi roller to consistent, quality sushi chef in very little time. We take it one step further for our franchisees and teach them how to operate a profitable sushi bar and how to grow sales year over year. Our proven production processes are best in class and allow Bento to operate in any footprint – small, large, and everywhere in between. Every franchisee at Bento has a designated corporate operations manager that will always be there to answer questions and help resolve issues if necessary.
