The Business

Sportball is a leader in providing non-competitive sports instruction to children ranging in age from 16 months to 12 years.

Over the last 21 years, we have built a reputation for delivering high quality programming that enhances childhood physical literacy in a fun and interactive session that kids look forward to every week.

Sportball programs encouraging healthy, active living starting with our Junior and Parent and Child Classes - By applying our educationally based methodology, we help the youngest children to develop socially as well as physically, through a curriculum designed to reinforce self-confidence free from the pressure of competition. Using creative instruction and positive encouragement, our programs focus on the development of gross motor skills, along with balance, stamina, strength, co-ordination, and timing.

In our Multi-Sport programs, children are provided with a skills-driven, high-energy and fun-filled curriculum. Multi-Sport instruction introduces children to the fundamental concepts and skills behind eight popular sports: soccer, hockey, basketball, baseball, volleyball, tennis, golf & football.

The equipment that we use is age-appropriate and sized just right. Sportball offers weekly classes that are run seasonally, as well as camps and clinics during school holidays. Birthday parties and special events can be arranged to fit into your schedule. We offer Sportball programs right in the community in churches, community centres, schools, daycares, private clubs, parks and other green spaces.

In our Sportball Fitkids program, kids aged 6–12 are introduced to fitness through our fun, functional fitness curriculum. Building on our strength in non-competitive sports instruction, we have developed a new program that will help children improve their overall fitness and health. By incorporating key body movements, this integrated functional training program will help to build flexibility, stability, agility, balance and core strength and Studies have shown that fit kids perform better in school.

The Methodology

Our goal is to set kids up for a lifetime of active fun. We do that by “Coaching with Purpose”

Whether its teaching kids how to handle winning and losing or how to dribble a ball; everything we do, in every class, is for a reason. For instance, all classes follow the same structured format, beginning with warm-ups, progressing to skill development, and then finishing up with games – because we know that kids perform better when they know what to expect.

Because we want kids to get in the game and stay in the game, we focus on the fundamentals, like proper form, continually assessing individual “baseline skills” and using simple instructions, keywords and clear visual instructions to break down movements according to developmental capability. “Refine, rehearse, repeat” is our mantra because it works. It’s not long before “big kicks” and “goalie kicks” become “trap-roll-kick” and “goalie scoops & rolls.”

What’s more, we know that while basic sports skills don’t change, kids do. That’s why our equipment, like our expectations, is kid-sized, and it’s why our curriculum is designed around established child developmental models. It’s also why we’re creative when it comes to keeping kids engaged: we know that what’s fun for a toddler is different than what’s fun for a ten year old AND we know that having fun is the key to keeping kids in the game

The Opportunity

There is a growing awareness globally as to the need to get kids active and engaged. Growing awareness creates the potential for growing demand and Sportball is well positioned to take advantage of that growth.

At Sportball we all share one common interest and commitment. To try to make a difference in child’s lives. We do that one child at a time and one class at a time. It is not a convenient turn of phrase – It is a guiding principle in our business.

While working to make a difference in the lives of children, becoming part of the Sportball Team can change your life as well. Ours is a home based opportunity thereby limiting ongoing external office operating expenses. We run programs right in the Communities in Community Centres, Child Care Spaces, Schools, Places of Worship and Green paces thereby limiting your investment in bricks and mortar fixed locations. You can run in areas where your target customer lives and when the demographic shifts you can relocate to new neighbourhoods.

The agreement that governs the relationship provides an opportunity for up to 20 years and comes with a provision to extend the life of the Franchise Agreement for an additional term. Becoming a Sportball Franchise Partner is a commitment in and of itself to leading an active and healthy lifestyle. You lead from out front. You and your Coaches become the role models for a generation of children whose parents support the notion of activity based living.

The financial commitment to become a Sportball Franchisee is a comparatively small one. The investment in heart and passion and hard work is a little bigger. Like any small business you have to dedicate yourself to the process of building your business – this takes time and it passion and it takes commitment. Let’s talk about your interest and if your expectations are met and your questions are answered at the end of our initial calls, then we’ll invite you to talk to some of our existing Franchise Partners. They’ll share their stories and experiences first hand.

Thanks for your interest in learning more about Sportball. We are passionate about what we do and hope that we have the opportunity to share that passion with you.
